EatecNetX operates in a 32-bit operating system environment, such as Windows 95/98/2000/XP or Windows NT. We have also certified the application for Microsoft's 64-bit platform. Written in Visual Basic, and utilizing Crystal Report Writer, EatecNetX supports Microsoft SQL Server database. As part of the implementation process, we will help you determine your particular hardware requirements based on your operations. The following are minimum hardware specifications for both Minimum Requirements and Recommended Requirements for Large Operations.
EatecNetX Recommended Minimum Requirements
There are three options:
- One very large server - 1.5 GHz dual processor, 3GB RAM and at least 40 GB hard drive
- Three smaller servers - Eatec Recommended - specified below
- Two servers - call Eatec Technical Support for configuration advice
Server #1: For the Application
1.5 GHz dual processor, 20 GB Hard Drive, 512M RAM
The application server is the primary point of entry where clients connect to the database. This is a Windows server running Windows 2000 Server (SP4) or Win 2003. It is also running Internet Information Server (IIS) version 5.0 or later. This server is typically accessible on the web either via a domain name or an IP address. Servers that have specific configurations (firewalls, et al.) might also be accessible with special URLs.
Server #2: For the Reports
1.5 GHz dual processor, 20 GB Hard Drive, 512M RAM
Client must purchase 'Crystal 10 Developer with Crystal Enterprise 10 Embedded' or 'Crystal 11 Pro or Developer with Crystal report Server'
Server #3: For the Database
1.5 GHz dual processor, 40 GB hard drive, 1GB RAM
Additional Considerations
- VPN, Remote Desktop or Web access to all three servers
- SQL Server 2000 or 2005
- MSADC 2.7 or later installed on all servers
Client Requirements
- Standard PC with minimum 256MB RAM
- Windows XP or later
- Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1
- Connection to Internet that is Broadband 128 K minimum (384 K DSL or cable recommended)
EatecNetX Recommended Requirements
for Large Operations
For large operations Eatec recommends a 3 server configuration.
Server #1: For the Application
3.0 GHz Xeon Quad processor, 36 GB Hard Drive, 4 GB RAM
The application server is the primary point of entry where clients connect to the database. This is a Windows server running Windows 2000 Server (SP4) or Win 2003. Additional Notes:
Network:
The network upon which EatecNetX is to be loaded must be a true LAN or WAN. The server must be dedicated; i.e., not in use as a workstation. EatecNetX does not support peer-to-peer configurations.
Interfaces:
EatecNetX easily interfaces to your existing applications, including point-of-sale
systems, vendor catalogs, and financial systems via standard ASCII file transfers. XML interfaces are available for interactive or real-time data sharing, such as e-procurement and client ordering via the internet.
