Tavern on the Green Selects EatecNet for Back-Office Operations

Emeryville, CA, May 11, 1998 - Eatec Corporation is proud to announce that Tavern on the Green Restaurant has selected EatecNet to streamline their food, beverage and retail operations.

Tavern on the Green, the country's top grossing restaurant during 1997, is one of New York City's most popular and enduring attractions. Whether summer or winter, day or night, business is always brisk. In fact, each year over 550,000 people enjoy the landmark's creative cuisine and eclectic atmosphere.

Because the volume of their operation is so large, Tavern on the Green needed a back-office management system that could effectively track and control the tremendous amounts of inventory they purchase and use each year. And, while business has been booming, Tavern on the Green's management needed a much clearer, more precise method of analyzing their food costs.

Tavern on the Green also needed a solution that would link each of their remote locations, allowing users across the organization on-line, real-time access to information. The solution would additionally be required to manage Tavern on the Green's extensive catering and retail operations, seamlessly incorporating the diverse elements of each on to one database.

Finally, the system had to be scalable, allowing management to easily add and connect new locations. When the newly renovated Russian Tea Room reopens early next year, boasting two new stories and a greatly increased seating capacity, it too will be brought into the fold.

By implementing EatecNet's enterprise-wide management system, Tavern on the Green has found a solution that will handle each of their requirements today and into the future.

End users at Tavern on the Green, their central warehouse, and each subsequent location will access a single, centralized database over the Internet or a wide-area network, allowing real-time data transfers and updates between locations.

All purchasing will be done at the warehouse, using EatecNet's forecasting and vendor bidding functionality to suggest quantities and lowest costs. Responding to on-line requisitions from each location, the warehouse will transfer out inventory to the appropriate location where it will be received and checked against the original order.

By having their entire food, beverage and retail operations on a single database, Tavern on the Green's management can easily review their operations as a whole, by individual location, or through any combination of activities throughout their organization.

Using EatecNet, Tavern on the Green looks forward to increased efficiency and even greater profitability through tighter controls, more refined operations, and optimized food costs.
