EatecNetX Automated Production Planning Drives Fresh Item Profitability
Emeryville, CA, January 17, 2006 - Eatec Corporation, a provider of enterprise food and beverage management software, has added an Automated Production Planning feature to the EatecNetX Fresh Item Management solution for supermarket retailers. This new functionality in EatecNetX ensures that retailers will have the right fresh items, in the right amounts, at the right time.
According to industry sources, due to over-production, annual shrink in retail fresh departments is estimated to be approximately 3.5% of fresh department revenue per store, or $150,000 per year. Out of stock fresh items, due to under-production, add up to 7% at any given time, which equate to approximately $300,000 of lost sales per store annually. Eatec now delivers a cost-effective solution to ameliorate this challenge.
With the EatecNetX Automated Production Planning module, a store is able to automate all or just a part of the processes. Based on criteria defined by each client, EatecNetX can prepare forecasts, produce production plans, create worksheets, and generate suggested purchase orders – with no end-user intervention. Sales history, shrink targets, on-ad uplift numbers, bulk item movement history, and catering/special order requirements are among the factors that are considered in the process.
In addition, EatecNetX, as a complete enterprise solution for fresh item management, offers purchasing, shrink tracking, inventory control, salad bar/hot bar management, holiday/special orders management, nutritional analysis, butchery, and central production facility management. The EatecNetX application can seamlessly interface to existing retail applications, such as scales, POS, distribution center ordering systems, and financial applications.
