90-Unit Quick-Casual Restaurant Company Selects EatecNetX for Foodservice Management

Emeryville, CA, March 3, 2004 - Noodles & Company, the Boulder, Colorado based, quick-casual restaurant company, has selected EatecNetX, the enterprise back-office solution from Eatec Corporation, to manage its foodservice operations. By the end of the year, 69 Noodles & Company restaurants will be relying on EatecNetX.
Noodles & Company's restaurants serve fresh, ethnically inspired fare that spans from spicy to comforting and healthy to indulgent. Its menu honors culinary traditions from around the world and meals are prepared with the finest ingredients, including artisan sauces; robust herbs and native spices; crisp, hearty vegetables; grilled beef, shrimp, chicken and tofu; fresh noodles and dried pasta. Noodles & Company has been selected for the Inc. 500 list of America's fastest growing private companies for three years in a row, reaching #64 this year, making it the fastest growing restaurant group on the list. There are 90 restaurants in 9 states with plans to reach 250 units through company operated and franchise area operated growth by the end of 2006. To help manage and maintain this growth, Noodles & Company needed a powerful, yet easy-to-use back-office system.

Currently, three Noodles & Company restaurants rely on EatecNetX for inventory management, purchasing and receiving. The system is interfaced to Noodles & Company's point-of-sale, enabling automatic depletion of inventory based on sales data. By the end of the year, 69 Noodles & Company restaurants will be actively using the system. Soon, EatecExchange, an XML B2B interface add-on to EatecNetX, will enhance purchasing functions by enabling automated exchange of data directly with vendors. With EatecNetX and EatecExchange, price guides, purchase orders, confirmations and even invoices are transmitted electronically, greatly improving communication speed and assuring accuracy of data. With timely information, managers are better able to react to price changes, out-of-stock notices, substitutions and invoice problems.

"When each restaurant receives inventory, the electronic invoice only needs to be viewed and the quantities verified rather than having to key in the quantities and prices. The system eliminates all of the data entry of received goods which can be very time consuming."
