Five Casinos Rely on Enterprise Solution From Eatec Corporation

Emeryville, CA, June 19, 2003 - Kewadin Casinos, a group of five Indian gaming casinos in Michigan, is using EatecNetX, a centralized back-office solution from Eatec Corporation, to manage all foodservice and retail operations. These operations include restaurants, employee dining rooms, bars, concessions, hotel room service and retail outlets. EatecNetX has also been implemented at two convenience stores, a furniture and flooring store and a recreation center.
Kewadin Casinos is owned by the Sault Sainte Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and offers exciting gaming and entertainment attractions to its visitors. The five properties are the Kewadin Sault Sainte Marie, Kewadin Shores Casino in St. Ignace, Manistique Kewadin Casino, Hessel's Kewadin Casino and Christmas Kewadin Casino.
"In the past, we tracked food and beverage and retail inventory with Excel spreadsheets and a variety of separate inventory systems. This was very time consuming and did not provide us with all the information we needed to manage our operations," said Mike Day, information services director for Kewadin Casinos. "EatecNetX is a great tool for our company. It offers exceptional functionality for both foodservice and retail and it gives us actionable information, which will result in significant bottom line improvements."
EatecNetX is used for purchasing and receiving, requisitions and transfers, and inventory management. The robust features of the system have been especially beneficial in automating the requisitioning, purchasing and receiving of inventory. The process originates with online requisitions at the five Kewadin properties, which are either converted to vendor orders within the purchasing department or dispersed to Kewadin warehouses for fulfillment. The enterprise nature of EatecNetX has put this entire process online, eliminating many ineffectual manual procedures.
The casino retail outlets and convenience stores also use EatecPocket, a wireless mobile accessory of EatecNetX, for physical inventory reporting. Bar coded product labels are generated within EatecNetX to facilitate scanning using EatecPocket and at the point-of-sale.
The EatecNetX implementation began in February 2003 and was completed in April 2003.
EatecNetX will be demonstrated at HITEC (Hospitality Industry Technology Expo and Conference) at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana from June 24 - 26, 2003.
