Ark Selects Eatec's Back-Office Solution to Reduce Food and Beverage Costs

Emeryville, CA, February 5, 2003 - Eatec Corporation is pleased to announce that Ark Las Vegas Restaurant Corporation (NASDAQ: ARKR) has selected Eatec's enterprise back-office solution, EatecNetX, to manage foodservice operations in Las Vegas, Nevada. This deployment of EatecNetX will give Ark a way to effectively track inventory usage and identify waste, resulting in food and beverage cost reductions.
EatecNetX will be used to manage seven restaurants, twelve food court concepts, two bars, an employee dining room, hotel room service, a bakery, production kitchen and storeroom at several Ark locations in Las Vegas, including outlets in the New York New York Hotel & Casino, Venetian Casino Resort and the Forum shops at Caesar's Palace Hotel & Casino. Ark's operations in Las Vegas include distinctive destination spots as well as more casual fare. One of their fine dining restaurants is Lutèce, a renowned French restaurant at the Venetian that offers an extensive wine list and is the twin of the famous Lutèce restaurant in New York.
"We selected Eatec because they have the enterprise technology necessary to meet the complex requirements of a multi-concept restaurant company," said Paul Gordon, senior vice-president of Ark. "EatecNetX will give us a way to track our inventory more effectively enabling us to control our food and beverage costs. Ark has a large inventory of liquor and expensive wines and, with EatecNetX, we will have all the tools we need to monitor the usage of that inventory to control our beverage costs."
EatecNetX will be used for forecasting, purchasing and receiving, requisitions and transfers, inventory management, production management and recipe and menu analysis. All of the restaurant and food court locations will create requisitions within EatecNetX, allowing the purchasing department to efficiently create purchase orders in the system and send them to the appropriate suppliers. Supplier shipments will be delivered directly to each operating location and tracked in EatecNetX through to depletion.

EatecNetX will interface to Ark's point-of-sale and financial systems. Implementation and training of EatecNetX has commenced and every Las Vegas location will be up and running on the system in February 2003.
EatecNetX will be demonstrated at the Multi-Unit Restaurant Technology Conference at the Rio Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada from March 19 - 21, 2003.
