EatecNetX Selected for Global Miami Joint Venture's Quick-Service and Fast-Casual Restaurants
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Emeryville, CA, August 19, 2002 - Global Miami Joint Venture, a quick-service and fast-casual restaurant owner and franchisee, has selected EatecNetX, the enterprise back-office solution from Eatec Corporation, to manage its foodservice operations at the Miami International Airport.
Global Miami Joint Venture (GMJV) is a growing foodservice company that owns two combined Au Bon Pain and Cozzoli's Pizza quick-service outlets, five fast-casual Cuban restaurants that include one Café La Carreta and four Café Versailles, two snack bars and two full-service bars. The Miami International Airport is among the world’s busiest airports, bringing travelers and guests to GMJV’s restaurants each day looking for speedy service and value meals. GMJV selected EatecNetX because it wanted a back-office solution with both the enterprise technology needed to successfully manage its multiple outlet operation and the ease of use required by GMJV personnel.
“Eatec Corporation’s enterprise solution is ideally suited to our business environment in its ability to manage multiple quick-service and fast-casual concepts, as well as our multiple outlets spread out over four different airport terminals,” said Dale Robinson, vice-president of operations for Global Miami Joint Venture. “We will rely on EatecNetX for recipe development and costing, inventory and production management, purchasing and receiving. In addition, we will rely on EatecNetX to handle all requisitions for items prepared in our commissary and the transfer of these goods to the outlets. Eatec’s technology is robust enough to handle the complexity of our operations and yet easy enough for our operators to be trained on and actively using in no time.”
The commissary and one Café Versailles restaurant will be the first outlets to go live on EatecNetX in September, 2002, with interfaces connecting EatecNetX to their point-of-sale and financial systems. All of the outlets will be operational on EatecNetX by the end of the year.
"For quick-service, fast-casual chains and fine-dining establishments, Eatec has a proven solution that can meet the needs of the restaurant industry," said Peter Marguglio, president of Eatec. "Global Miami Joint Ventures will have its entire foodservice operations running on one centralized data source across their wide area network. Everyone will rely on, and be able to benefit from EatecNetX, from the manager running operational reports in their off-site corporate office, to the chef using production recipes in the commissary, to the accountant who will be able to do consolidated purchasing for all of their outlets."
With plans to open 14 more restaurant locations at the airport over the next three years, Global Miami Joint Ventures will be able to add new users and new restaurants to the EatecNetX system at any time.
Marguglio added, “We are excited about providing Global Miami Joint Ventures with the EatecNetX enterprise management solution that they need to manage their quick-service and fast-casual foodservice operations now and into the future.”
