Eatec Corporation Introduces EatecTouch, a Touch Screen Inventory Reporting Accessory of EatecNetX

Emeryville, CA, April 29, 2002 - Eatec Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise back-office solutions for the foodservice and hospitality industries, today announced the availability of EatecTouch, a touch screen inventory reporting tool. By utilizing point-of-sale (POS) terminals as input devices, EatecTouch gives users more flexibility and convenience when performing back-office functions.

EatecTouch is a new accessory of EatecNetX, a web-centric software solution from Eatec that enables companies to manage their supply chain, control their inventory and optimize production all in one system. EatecTouch makes the power of EatecNetX available at PC-based POS terminals, eliminating the need for a keyboard, mouse and separate computer in compact environments.

“Stadiums, arenas, hotels, casinos, convention centers, race tracks, theme parks and other companies with multi-outlet environments can all benefit from EatecTouch,” said Peter Marguglio, president of Eatec. “When you have a limited amount of space, whether it is in a kitchen or a concession stand, it may be practical to use EatecTouch on the POS terminal to perform back-office functions rather than squeezing an additional computer into a work area.”
EatecTouch has already been successfully implemented at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, a new arena that is home to the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA and the Dallas Stars of the NHL. “Arena personnel are using EatecTouch on more than 70 of the 230 point-of-sale terminals to enter physical counts and spoilage and loss,” said Brad Mayne, CEO of Center Operating Company (COC), the company that owns and operates American Airlines Center. “The biggest advantage of using EatecTouch is that users now have a tool that is well-suited to their work setting. We have greatly improved our inventory control processes because our personnel can complete their work on the point-of-sale, without having to find another computer. In addition, EatecTouch enables us to close out a stand almost immediately after an event, which helps us control our labor costs.”

EatecTouch will be demonstrated in the Eatec booth at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Restaurant Hotel-Motel show in Chicago and at the HITEC show in Chicago.
