University of Colorado Graduates to EatecNet

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Emeryville, CA, September 17, 2001 - Eatec Corporation proudly announces that the main campus of the University of Colorado, in Boulder, recently completed the implementation of EatecNet back-office inventory and catering management software for its university-managed foodservice operations.

As the hub of campus dining, the University Memorial Center (UMC) food service is noted for its extensive and high-volume operations. The UMC includes the Alferd Packer Grill, a food court providing three meals a day to over 30,000 students, faculty, administrators, and visitors. The Grill serves a variety of selections from several distinct stations, each named for a famous Coloradoan or event in Colorado's history. UMC Food Service operates other coffee bars and snack outlets throughout campus, while the kitchen facilities also serve as the production area for catered events, both on-campus and in the community.

All profits generated by UMC Food Service are returned to the University and the UC Student Union Finance Board. This allows the University to provide campus dining and other programs at reasonable prices. In order to continue to meet this goal, the UMC Food Service must continually strive to manage costs, an accomplishment that the use of EatecNet software will facilitate.

The University of Colorado at Boulder, an Eatec client since 1991, recently converted from the Eatec DOS version to Windows-based EatecNet. As Shannon Evins, Director of UMC Food Service, states, "We have been very pleased with our EatecNet system since we upgraded. The transition was smoother than other software changes our organization has made.”

“As previous users of Eatec, we probably will not experience the dramatic cost savings that new clients will enjoy. However, we are most impressed with the versatility of EatecNet and the wide number of reports and managerial data that we are able to pull from the system. It is one of the few systems that does everything we need it to do, and we avoid trying to interface multiple programs to get the same results," Shannon concluded.

UMC Food Services utilizes the software to manage all purchasing and receiving, inventory control, recipe costing, menu mix analysis, catering sales orders, invoicing, and event planning. L. Michelle Martin, Director of UMC Catering, enjoys the ease and new look of the software as well as the customized catering documents that EatecNet generates.
