Eatec Helps Houlihan's Do Everything Just Right...

Emeryville, CA, September 5, 2000 - Houlihan's Restaurant Group, a popular 80+ store chain headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, now relies upon EatecNet's enterprise software to manage its in-store operations, across multiple concepts. The company, in partnership with Eatec Corporation, recently completed the implementation of EatecNet to manage all of its stores from a single data source, accessed by outlet personnel over the web. The result? Accurate, timely information has enhanced the ability of the company to quickly identify problems and run a more profitable enterprise.

"Since using EatecNet, Houlihan's has significantly reduced the gap between theoretical and actual costs," says Melody Gerow, Director of Food and Beverage Information Services. "EatecNet easily spots the problem areas at each restaurant. Restaurant Operations then has the opportunity to work with each manager on an individual basis to improve performance."

At any given time, over 100 users may be logged into the system, documenting purchases and inter-site transfer activity, analyzing costs, developing recipes, tracking spoilage, and recording physical counts. Posted information updates a single database through an Internet connection. There is no information to download, upload, replicate or synchronize. Reports detailing every aspect of Houlihan's business are instantly available at store, region and corporate levels, by concept and combined.

Houlihan's EatecNet database runs on Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 from corporate headquarters. From there, it is deployed via a Citrix Application Server to each restaurant. TC/PIP connections govern how the data is routed. It is not necessary to load application software at the store level, greatly simplifying routine maintenance and system updates. Interfaces exist to POS and financial systems.
