EatecNet and Applebee's Team Up in Your Neighborhood

Emeryville, CA, April 26, 2000 - Eatec Corporation is proud to announce that Applebee's International, Inc. has implemented the EatecNet enterprise solution for 250+ company-owned stores. Applebee's International, Inc., headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, develops, franchises and operates restaurants in 49 states and eight international countries, under the Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar brand, the largest casual dining concept in the world.

EatecNet, the only available true enterprise system, takes foodservice management to a higher level. This unique solution employs a single, centralized database, accessible on-line, real-time from each operational site across Applebee's Intranet. Standardized inventory, recipe, supplier and supplier pricing tables are maintained centrally while the 250+ remote users connect to the corporate EatecNet system and perform daily store-level operations in real-time. With a centralized database and no remote systems to maintain, the requirement to download, upload, replicate or synchronize data is eliminated.

At the store level, purchase orders, receiving, physical inventory counts, and recording of spoilage and loss are performed daily, while sales are automatically posted to EatecNet from the Applebee's POS system. With real-time transaction posting, up-to-the-minute information is always available; data is secured through the use of firewalls, site addresses, and passwords. Users have access to a full range of operational and financial reports, which are easily generated for each store, region, and concept, and can be consolidated in any fashion. Information is also exported to the company's financial systems.
