Return of the ASP!

At Uncle Julio's ten border-style Mexican-food restaurants, EatecNetX (www.eatec.com) offers the advantage of an instantaneous enterprise-wide implementation of applications for inventory management, purchasing, requisitions and transfers, recipes, menu engineering and production management.

Uncle Julio's is comparing sales data from the POS system and standardized recipes to provide detailed comparisons of theoretical and actual food costs. Using EatecNetX, Uncle Julio's can identify variances and waste at the inventory-item level across all stores on a daily basis.

The flexibility of ASP-based applications has even attracted the attention of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. His fine dining group recently selected EatecNetX for its flexibility at Spago, Chinois Las Vegas, Trattoria del Lupo, Cili and Postrio Las Vegas restaurants. "After extensively researching different systems, we chose EatecNetX because of its reliability, its functionality and its flexibility which allows us to adapt the system to our specific business and procedural needs," says Joe Essa, managing partner.

Each restaurant orders, purchases and receives its own inventory. EatecNetX will enable the restaurants to improve tracking of all inventory activity relative to purchases, usage, spoilage and loss, and therefore allow for more effective purchasing company-wide and a more appropriate use of purchase orders to verify quantities and pricing upon merchandise arrival. "We can streamline our inventory and purchasing processes across our company but still have a solution that is flexible enough to meet the specific needs of each restaurant," adds Essa.
