Applebee's chooses Net-enabled Eatec system
Casual dinner-house operator and franchiser Applebee's International Inc. selected EatecNet software as a management tool for its 250-plus company-owned stores, sources at Emeryville, Calif.-based Eatec Corp. reported.
With EatecNet, restaurant employees use Applebee's corporate intranet for real-time access to applications and a centralized database hosted on computers at headquarters. While permitting restaurant employees to perform daily management duties, the hosted-applications approach eliminates the need to download, upload and synchronize data shared by headquarters and restaurants, does away with software updates in the field, and simplifies backups.
At the store level EatecNet is used daily to handle purchase orders, receiving, physical inventory counts, and the recording of spoilage and loss, among other functions; sales data automatically and regularly are posted to EatecNet by Applebee's point-of-sale system. EatecNet generates an assortment of financial and operations reports based on individual store, region and chain wide performance and can export data to Applebee's enterprise accounting systems, Eatec said.
