Additional Capabilities for Multi-Site Companies
Your multi-site company faces unique challenges. Many of your most essential functions are performed from a central location, from negotiating vendor quotes to issuing purchase orders. And, products are often used from a common warehouse.
EatecNetX takes enterprise foodservice management to a higher level.
Our unique solution employs a single, centralized database, accessible online, from each property over a company Intranet or the Internet real-time. No remote systems to maintain. No uploading, downloading or replicating of data.
Additional capabilities for multi-site companies include:
Vendor Bidding |
- Bid negotiation based on bulk buying trends of all sites
- Maintenance of regional bids
|
| Purchasing |
- The option to issue purchase orders centrally, while others emanate directly from each property
|
| Warehouse |
- Off-site warehouse management, with the ability for online requisitions
|
| Inter-Site Transfers |
- Inter-site requisitions and transfers, which automatically update inter-company account codes
|
| Reporting |
- Access to a full range of operational and financial reports, which are easily generated for each property and region and can be consolidated at any level
|
| Concentrated Resource and Access |
- By not having to install and support software at each site, IT expertise can be concentrated in one place and shared among multiple properties
- Users can be limited, via passwords, to site-specific data

EatecNetX for Cruise Lines
Cruise ships are equivalent to floating hotels, so many features pertinent to the hotel market segment also apply here. However, there are additional considerations:
- A ship may order directly from a vendor, often in another country. But it is more likely that a market list will be sent to a central purchasing office, from which the purchase order is issued.
- Based on when and where a ship docks for replenishment, there may be extensive lead times when placing orders, and foreign currency is a factor.
- To minimize the number of shipping containers contracted for, it is desirable to know the weight and volume of the ordered products, by type of container: frozen, refrigerated, and dry storage.
- Eating habits of passengers may vary, by cruise, depending upon their origin. For example, cruises with a large Midwest-originating clientele will consume more beef; in contrast, California residents typically demand more seafood. On-board food service consists of buffet dining, as well as a la carte consumption.
- Liquor sales are typically recorded on a point-of-sale in the bar. Dining rooms operations rarely involve a point-of-sale.
In this environment, an EatecNetX system can either be installed on each ship, or if reliable ship-to-shore communication exists, as an enterprise solution. In either scenario, EatecNetX accommodates the flow of work: creation of forecasts and/or models, based on the types of passengers on board; generation of market lists that are sent to the purchasing office; issuance of purchase orders, with a duplicate copy sent to the ship to receive against; and export of accounts payable files to the financial system, based upon receipt of merchandise.
EatecNetX meets the needs of the cruise ship industry through:
- Suppliers and bids, by region
- Forecasts, by cruise, to drive purchasing and production requirements
- Currency conversions, to facilitate purchasing in multiple countries
- Volume & weight of purchase order items, by type of container, to facilitate container configuration
- Pack size reconciliation, ordered versus received
- Buffet management
- Reports by cruise
- Food costs versus per passenger budgets
