About Eatec


Eatec Corporation is a leading provider of enterprise back-office software and services for the foodservice and hospitality industries. Eatec History
Eatec was founded in 1985 by a group of foodservice professionals who recognized a need for a new kind of management technology in their industry. Managers need "real-time" information on the profitability of their businesses in order to remain competitive. With a focus on operations, Eatec introduced its original DOS-based systems for the development and costing of recipes, for menu mix analysis and for inventory valuation and control. Today, features have expanded to include catering, concessions, manufacturing and retail operations as well as completely integrated accounts payable and accounts receivable modules. In addition, Eatec offers interfaces to other systems, including point-of-sale and third party accounting packages. And Eatec provides consulting and implementation services second to none.

Over the years, Eatec expanded the system's functionality and simultaneously migrated its technology to keep in step with the advancements in hardware, operating systems, and the introduction of the internet:

  • In 1995, Eatec introduced the first food and beverage Windows back-office system in the industry.
  • In 1997, Eatec migrated EatecNet to Microsoft SQL Server.
  • In 1997, Eatec introduced the first Enterprise version of EatecNet, allowing operators to manage multiple outlets from a single, centralized data source, eliminating the problems inherent in having a separate back-office system in each outlet.
  • In 1999, Eatec demonstrated that the concept of an enterprise solution was practical for large, nationwide organizations, as Applebee's International successfully implemented EatecNet for all of its corporate stores.
  • In 2000, Eatec introduced EatecNetX, a version of EatecNet that utilizes browser technology, allowing users to access the system from anywhere.
  • In 2000, EatecNet and EatecNetX were made available in an ASP model, eliminating the need for users to have internal IS investment in hardware and personnel.
  • In 2001, Eatec introduced an API that allows any distributor system, or B2B portal, to communicate directly with EatecNetX or EatecNet for the exchange of purchase orders and pricing information.
  • In 2002, Eatec introduced EatecTouch, a touch screen inventory reporting accessory of EatecNetX.
  • In 2002, Eatec introduced EatecPocket, a mobile accessory of EatecNetX that enables users to perform inventory transactions from any location.
  • In 2003, Eatec introduced Eatec Exchange, an advanced technological interface between EatecNetX and other systems based on SOAP server and XML.

Today, Eatec continues to set the standard for foodservice management software and services.
